Hotel okay for work was across the road in the Messe Congress Centre. Prater closeby and u-bahn for travelling into Vienna.
Downside is you are in the red light district area and prostitutes are roaming up and down outside so you didn't feel safe at night. Lots of noise from them with car doors banging and revved up engines. We came to Vienna on a short city getaway. This hotel is part of a chain of hotels called "The Austria Trend" which has about 22 different hotels in Vienna.
The walls are scratched, the carpet is dirty, the rooms are so small that there is barely enough room to walk around the bed to the bathroom. The area is filled with prostitutes strolling around at night. While it was not so bad during the day, at night the grounds surrounding the hotels are full of shady characters and prostitutes. We took the tram from the city center back to the hotel in the evening and felt very uncomfortable making our way back to our hotel.
The room decor is boring and very ordinary. Do not be fooled by the hotel's 4 stars rating, in the USA it will not be rated much above an old Best Western. We booked through the official website and we payed approximately euro double room , breakfast was not included. The hotel is not near the center of the city, but there is a metro stop very close 20 meters. Metro is very useful at Vienna. Rooms are clean, but not spacious, we expected them larger and more comfort to be honest.
After all its a 4 star hotel. There is no room service and they have a system at the lift that is not very useful. The reason is that we were 3 couples, we booked 2 smoking rooms and a non smoking and we were at different floors. When we entered the lift, we placed the card of our room, and we could only go to the floor that our room was. The hotel has only external stairs for emergency use. So if we wanted to meet, we went to the lobby, and then to any of the rooms.
