The long row of Susukino full of bars and clubs. The neon lights add a special charateristic to this avenue. Good restaurants are abundance and cheap drinks too. Susukino is an attraction which will take a few days to explore. There are plenty of restaurants serving delicious ramen and Japanese cuisine. There is a lane per photo that hosts some well-known ramen and sushi restaurants.
Do visit this lane for excellent ramen. Shopping options here are endless. We spent 2 evenings in this area for food, shopping, beer tasting and could have spent another 2 nights. There are many nooks and cranies to look for ramen, and Sushi. Exciting just to walk there from JR station and watch the life go by, lots of young folks and pedesterian traffic. Plenty happening , great bars, plenty to eat and if you like girly bars or karaoke this is the place for you.
Expensive restaurants to cheap and cheerful , all available. Mc Donalds if you have eaten enough noodles. Very safe though evidence of prostitution is easy to find. Susukino is not to be missed if you visit Sapporo. Lots of nice restaurants around and you will never go hungry here. Have fun! Busy and happening Susukino has the neon, lights, restaurants and bars.
Without doubt most visitors will walk through this place on their way to the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade, whether you find a meal or grab a drink here in one of the many restaurants and bars is another matter. I visited in late March, still cold. Personally, I don't like the many guys wearing the NFL type overcoats standing on the streets soliciting business for the girly bars. They just look like hoodlums to me and they don't discriminate it seems.
They stop men and women but apparently their efforts with women are to lure them into questionable work. If you've been to Shibuya Tokyo you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Profile JOIN. Log in to get trip updates and message other travelers. The heart of the night life - Susukino.
