There was some great photo opportunities and the back story to yab yum was very interesting. We happened upon Yab Yum which was really close to our hotel on the Singel Canal. It was pricey to get into at 15 Euros each and we really didn't know what to expect but we were really glad we went. We were given a personal tour by Mitch, who had been a manager when the club was in full swing.
Its a fascinating story and a very glamorous place, but a world away from anything else we had ever experienced.
Worth a visit and worth shelling out 2, Euros to hire out as a party venue perhaps ;o. Whilst in Amsterdam we wanted to do something that had the true essence of Amsterdam and I came across Yab Yum, Amsterdams most notorious brothel. I didn't know what to expect when we walked in It was fascinating. As the museum is so new it wasn't busy, just the 3 of us but that gave us the time to just wander around at our leisure listening to the fascinating story of the club, it's owner and of course the girls who worked there.
To top the experience off, the Manager of the club was there and incredibly one of the girls who worked at Yab Yum which gave us a real insight in to what the place was like and some of the stories that comes with such a place.
Having only closed in it does have a feel of sadness and longing about it - you can tell it was a sad time when Yab Yum closed but I highly recommend taking a step in to this garish, gold plated luxury and visit the Yab Yum club - you won't forget it!
