Current staying at the colon 2 apts, in the Patch area. I've just tried to get food at 1. The place is a disgrace. Also at many holiday resorts throughout Europe. It's the same in most resorts but you shouldn't let it ruin your holiday.
If people are stupid enough to take drugs and engage with brazzers then fair play to the looky lookies for exploiting these idiots. Do your own thing people and enjoy your holiday,after all we are what we do.
Douglas, if you are looking for alternative destinations Usually tucked up before then, but no huge surprise. Was the same when I went as a teenager 27 yrs ago. Most folk just do not realise the looky looky men lead double lives. Whilst selling there rubbish they are all friendly happy shake your hands types. They will rip you off whatever mode they are in at the time. Try returning a broken watch or bracelet the next time you see them and take note of the utter contempt you will receive.
Yeah, my hubby noticed the same thing about the looky looky men in Majorca a few years ago - on his way out still selling rip-off sunglasses and silly light toys - on his way back it was drugs. They're everywhere, not just PDLA, and daytime activity is just as illegal - have you noticed they have a lookout and when police are near they suddenly scoop up all their stuff and make off in the other direction. This goes on in most European resorts, we always just nod and say no and they leave us alone.
As a pensioner I've stayed in Playa de las Americas and have never come across the problems described, though I'm not saying they don't exist. Quite why anyone would be concerned about food at and would need to go out then, I'm not sure - but it's not my business. He must have lived a very sheltered life until now. He presumably doesn't need to be out and about at every day and if this one incident hadn't occurred he would have been blissfully ignorant of it.
