The nightlife in Asuncion is not that great. Mostly restricted to Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. These people go to bed early and get up early. There is a great pub on the block of Cerro Cora called Britania. Not in the best section of town but it has been there a long time.
Good food, good drink prices, good music and usually crowded. Another place that is similar is El Alamo on at Mcal Lopez. This is probably the swankiest address in all of asuncion. Across from the embassy of Brazil - surrounded by mansions- close to downtown and on Mcal Lopez which is the main street of Asuncion.
A little more lively than Britania with similar great prices for food and drinks. I am probably a little biased towards El Alamo because girls drink for free. That probably explains why the place is jammed with college aged girls.
I'm heading down to Buenos Aires for a week or so and then returning to Asuncion. Would like to pal around with other girls my age. Let me know if you will be in town. I beg to differ. I'll take Britania over El Alamo anyday. More guys in Britania and the girls are usually plain janes. I get a lot more attention in Britania. El Alamo. Forget it. They have cornered the market on knock out girls. So what if girls get free drinks. You may have free drinks but your chances of competing with those girls is about zero.
By the way, I'm in Buenos Aires now until the weekend. Then I go back to solitary confinement in Asuncion. Maybe we can hook up.
