Great site to visit. Clean and quite. I don't understand how a photo permit can be more expensive than the entrance itself. There is nothing exciting to take pictures of anyway, other than a bunch of ruins. Also, at the entrance there is a very unpleasant and unwelcoming security guy who will watch you very suspicious. This building used to be the watchtower of the fortress. It has a degree view of the surroundings. Nice little exhibition on the floors on the wat to the top.
This was a great stop and one of the best places to start to learn about Vlad Tepes Dracul. This was his father's palace. We were able to climb the tower and the view was beautiful. Not crowded. An unexpected tower that rises out of Targoviste, not so high as to dominate the city, but high enough when you are on top of it especially with the very low guard rails.
Whilst the tower is built solidly of stone, the spiral staircase is made of wood. It is a beautiful creation. I was visiting with a carpenter and he was fascinated by it. He counted the steps. It would spoil the fun to reveal the answer here.
Great views of Targoviste from the top. The Chindiei Tower is one of the most beautiful places in Targoviste also it is a popular place based on historical facts , one fact is that Vlad Tepes Dracula build this tower for military reasons , the tower reach 27 m and is the symbol of the city Targoviste.
