According to officers at the scene, during the 4 hour sex crime sting, police made arrest for solicitation of prostitution, lewd conduct , loitering for the purposes of prostitution, and possession of methamphetamine.
Recently, another sex crime sting was conducted by the LAPD Division sting that involved undercover women officers posing as prostitutes on Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills. This area is well known for prostitution activity and cheap motels that rent rooms by the hour.
The sting resulted in the arrest of 20 men for solicitation of prostitution. The City Councilman whose district includes Van Nuys recently made a proposal on how to deal with prostitution in the San Fernando Valley, beyond just making arrest on the women who work as prostitutes. He believes it is time to discuss a different approach and more legal tools to target the demand for prostitutes.
