Hi, I will be traveling to Sri Lanka , to work in Batticaloa for 6 months, in a few weeks time. I have read a few things on here about travel from Colombo to Batticaloa, but most of them are very out of date, and I was wondering how much has changed. The older posts on here suggest that:. And whether they are still true or not, what would be the best way to get to Batticaloa from Colombo?
I have not booked my ticket yet, but will probably spend a night or two in Colombo first, so times of transport will not be dictated by my arrival time. I'd definitely favour the daytime train, leaves Fort 6. Maybe 1 hour slower but far more comfortable, leg stretching, snacks possible either onboard or at the Maho rest stop etc. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity.
